Kaspar p

"Herab did, at some point, receive some form of medical training. The duration, sobriety, and quality of that training -- and whether or not it pertained to human beings -- is highly questionable. Herab's eagerness to demonstrate it, however, is not."

OverviewEdit

Kaspar is like a melee version of Deena. While she gains Verbal Abuse, Operate and Iron Fist, he gains the unique skills Group Therapy and ÜberCharge. His damage potential is lower than Deena but he is more defensively adept.

StrategyEdit

Choosing Kaspar is one of the easiest ways to boost your team's survivability. Though he does not excel in combat on his own, every one of his skills boosts his team's ability to take more damage, either by regeneration or flat out nullification. Simply being in the same room as Kaspar gains his team up to +15 defense thanks to Group Therapy, not even taking into account the benefits of having teammates with Pack of Dogs and Got Your Back gain their benefit simultaneously. Group Therapy 3 is also gained at level 8, which is quite early. His regen is also good thanks to Placebo and Paramedic 2, able to heal 60 HP/s without gear. His unique ability ÜberCharge is able to prevent teammates in the room from being harmed for a few seconds which can singlehandedly save a hero from certain death long enough for regen to kick in. Don't be afraid to recharge it with science! Like Chef Nanor, Kaspar is a pseudo-tank, his maximum HP is very respectable and he can hold his own even though damage is nothing special. He also uses swords, many of which increase HP or defense.

Kaspar's main weakness is in his nature - you are effectively sacrificing a dedicated operator, scout, or DPS to strengthen the other heroes. His HP is decent, but his damage is mediocre, and he can't Operate. The composition of his team can heavily sway his potential value in it. He is rarely useless, but others may be more useful.

QuotesEdit

When found in a dungeon:

  • "Medicine should be applied to a situation like a hammer is applied to an egg."
  • "Archimedes! Stop! The floors are messy enough already!"
  • "Do you see how they do medicine here? It's beautiful!"

When opening a door:

When repairing a module:

When low on health:

  • "I am about to get über-angry."

When carrying the crystal:

  • "So much power! Ah ha ha haaaaa! ... Uh, not that I crave power... much..."

NotesEdit

According to the Team Fortress comic The Naked and the Dead, the Medic's actual surname is Ludwig. However this information was revealed two years after the Australium! DLC was released.
