Hikensha
"Hikensha knows little other than this lab where she grew up. Coming from an avian warrior race whose DNA was altered to maximize their value in arena battles, she imprinted psychologically on images and artifacts of her lost people. Those may only be loot to other adventurers; to Hikensha they are her birthright."
Overview[]
Hikensha can fill most gaps in a party line up, though not truly excelling at any one function. With Nyctophilia, she makes for a fine explorer, as even with lower speeds than many other heroes, she has the defense to hold her own against reasonable waves. In the late game she has solid DPS capability with few weaknesses.

Strategy[]
Hikensha is a jack-of-all-trades, but with a more dedicated DPS role than someone like Kreyang. She can be a decent operator or a scout thanks to Nyctophilia, but is a fighter first and foremost. Sacrifice is a fantastic combat ability, the ability to double your damage with a meager 2-door cooldown should never be underestimated. With Sacrifice, her DPS potential can easily beat Gork's and rival Ken's. Her respectable durability from stats and War Face help her survive in combat. Repair and Endless Expert are universally useful though not game-breaking, solidifying Hikensha's adaptable nature. She is also very cheap to level.
Nyctophilia helps her speed in dark rooms, but she is fairly slow overall. Her wit is also a bit low for a dedicated operator. There is not much else to be said about Hikensha - use her for whatever role you need, and you can expect her to fill it adequately, but not exceptionally. But sometimes that's exactly what you want.
Story Events[]
Hikensha is involved in the following events:
Quotes[]
When found in a dungeon:
- "Some things here are sacred to my people, and my blade is sharp."
- "This place is not much, but it is mine. Be careful what you touch."
- "The penalty for desecration is death. Just so we're clear on that."
When opening a door:
- “I await the challenge with calm and concentration."
- “This is what I train for."
- "Nothing in there can weaken my will or my honor."
When repairing modules:
- "As the sword is the soul, the equipment is the body."
- "There is no shame in preparation."
When low on health:
- “I fear neither wounds, nor death. That is why I am free.”
- "Thank you for that scar of honor!"
When carrying the crystal:
- “Without fear. Without regret.”
Notes[]
Hikensha is a Hissho, a race of honor-bound warlike avians that were experimented upon and enslaved by the Concrete Endless, used as gladiators in their arenas before the Dust Wars allowed them to retake their freedom. She might be a survivor of the Grey Owl, a Hissho research vessel that also crashed in Auriga, like the Argosy, the Mezari arkship most of the other heroes came from.
Hikensha (被験者) is Japanese for "Test subject".
