Each hero possesses different skills, stats, and hero item slots, most of which which depend on their level. These skills are automatically unlocked at specific levels or by equipping certain items. Skills can be divided up into active skills and passive skills.

Each hero gets active and passive skills when they level up (predefined for each). The passive skills automatically give specific bonuses under certain conditions. The active skills need to be cast by the player - the effect lasts for X seconds, and then a cooldown is applied for X turns where the move cannot be used again for the duration. The cooldown can be reset by either waiting the number of doors or paying Science to reset it. The cost per resetting an ability is 3 x (ability level) x (turns left on cooldown).
