First of all, congratulations if you begin a game with Ayairi at all, as the chance of starting with her is extremely slim and practicing with her consistently is basically impossible. She is a unique hero in a multitude of ways. First off, she is incapable of equipping a weapon or device at all, and has a traumatizing defense stat of 0. As a result she is extremely difficult to keep alive (which, given the nature of the game, is likely intentional). This is all the more cruel as she has an amazing set of skills, and uniquely gains a skill every single level. She is a fantastic scout, gaining Pilfer the earliest of any hero as well as having Scamper, Nyctophilia, and Repair. Despite her fragility, it is highly recommended to keep her as near combat as possible, as she has easily the highest resource gains for doing so, possessing Pickpocket, Soylent Green and Recycling. Overclocked and Paramedic are also potent active abilities that will hopefully help her stay alive longer than otherwise.

Two things hinder Ayairi. 1) You will barely even have her, and 2) when you do, she will die swiftly if you don't babysit her constantly. Which is a real shame, as her abilities make for a very effective hero. While she has no skills unique to her, her combination of them IS unique and very powerful. Too bad she is the most fragile character in the game on top of being the rarest. She is the embodiment of the passive-aggressive sadism that is Dungeon of the Endless. Well played, Amplitude.
